Local heritage book of Bladen

Pfarrkirche (Parish church) Bladen

Pfarrkirche (Parish church) Sauerwitz, baptismal church of Eduard Langer, grandfather of the author

Bladen (Polish Wlodzienin)
Village in western Upper Silesia, Leobschtz District

1,141 Inhabitants (1912

The Catholic parish of Bladen (Polish Wlodzienin) lies in the southern part of Leobschtz District (Polish Glubcyzce), formerly Upper Silesia, between the cities (clockwise on the map) Leobschtz, Katscher, Troppau (Czech. Opava) and Jgerndorf (Czech. Krnow), near the Czech border. It consisted until 1800 of the following places: Bladen,Hennerwitz, Krug, Lwitz, Ponitz and Sauerwitz. In 1801 Ponitz becomes independent with the subsidiary community of Hennerwitz, Sauerwitz in 1802, and Lwitz in 1820.

The local heritage book of Bladen includes persons in more than 3,250 families over the time period of 1686 (see Sources) to 1800. The author has recorded his ancestral families from the neighboring parishes in this work, and has endeavored to locate those who moved into the parish and all children of families, who only lived in the parish of Bladen now and then. This effort is, of course, not complete.

Sources:
  • Church books of Bladen: baptisms, weddings, deaths from 1715 with gaps (on microfilm of the Latter Day Saints Church (Mormons)
  • Copies of the parish books of the former diocese of Olmtz (Czech. Olomouc), to which the parishes of the southern district of Leobschtz also belonged. These copies are located in Olmtz, are for the most part complete, and include mostly the church book gaps of Bladen as of 1686.
  • Microfilms of originals (Mormons) and copies (Olmtz) of neighboring parishes
  • Church books of Jgerndorf (Krnow) in the Landesarchiv Troppau (Opava)
Baptisms as of 1640, marriages as of 1658, deaths as of 1668
Oddly, in this early time (as of 1640) persons from Hennerwitz, Lwitz, Ponitz and Sauerwitz are listed sporadically

The author desires information about some of his Silesian ancestors:
1. Esther N.N. (b. abt. 1711), Frau von Franz PROSKE (d. 11.4.1711 Wanowitz), the marriage of both was about 1730 (where?)
2. Anna N.N. (b. 1706), Frau von Johannes George TRAUTMANN (d. 12.26.1700 Bladen), the marriage of both was about 1724/25 (where?)
3. Andreas KORES (Korres, Kohrus, Corus u. .) und Susanna N.N. , had two sons baptized in Tschirmkau (4.4.1741, 7.28.1743)
4. Johannes LANGER (b. 1711 where?) und Theresia VIEWEGER (b. abt. 1715 where?), married 11.6.1736 Wanowitz
5. Origin of family DEPONTE (De Ponte), possibly in Italy
