Local heritage book of Striche

STRICHE (Strichy) is a small village in the Kreis (county) Schwerin, west of the town of Birnbaum, in the Posen Province. The villages incl Striche Hauland, Striche Colonie, Stampfmühle Striche, Petrimühle Striche, Wierstabno are included in this data set.

The parish church was in Birnbaum, and Striche/Wierzebaum had its own civil registration office. The population of Striche itself was about 500.

These data are an except of my larger file of Birnbaum county. All persons who spent any time in these villages are included, even if born elsewhere or moving to other locations. If parents are not shown in these data, they might be found in my GEDBAS file Birnbaum County. If known, I added places of origin or locations these persons moved to. 

Striche appears to have been a hub of Bandur families and most Bandur families in the area have ties to Striche. 

The village now has a catholic church, built after 1945, adjacent to the former protestant cemetery, which has a few remaining german grave markers. Since the cemetery is part of a social rehab facility, it is not open to the public. 

The former manor house is near the village center, but is in ruins.

Standesamt (civil registry) Striche/Wierzebaum in the Landsberg Polish Archive  66/485 (1876-1880) and 1887-1937 online at   Striche civil registration    On Ancestry some years are accessible with many gaps  (1876-1937).
